"Flora" originally started life as a test piece for a more intricate idea of mine. I wanted to create a boat emerging from the "sea" pages of the book. Although slightly abstract, and containing none of the finely-cut details that I had in mind such as rigging and oars, "Flora" still remains one of my more beautiful maquettes for future books.
